Jersey’s Elizabeth Cann has regained her singles national badminton championship title.

The 32-year-old number one seed beat eighth seed Kate Robertshaw 21-19, 21-17 in the final of the  English National Badminton Championships in Bolton this afternoon.

It took Cann just 37 minutes to win the match to give her a fifth national singles title.

Jersey’s other representative in the championships did not fare so well, however. Mariana Agathangelou and partner Heather Olver, seeded number one in the women’s doubles, lost in the final to number two seeds Jenny Wallwork and Gabby White, 21-16 18-21 21-16.

Thanks knildy for posting on this particular subject. There is not a great deal of content published about it (not particularly helpful anyway). It is encouraging to see it getting slighlty more coverage. Thanks again!
