PEGASUS A have opened up a one-point lead at the top of Division I in the Deutsche Bank Table Tennis League.

The clear leaders took three points out of four in two matches over the past week following a 10-0 victory against CCC Panthers last night while they were held to a five-all draw by CCC Pumas in a rearranged match.

Pumas’ Kevin Allan put up the only resistance against Pegasus A last night, at the Geoff Reed Table Tennis Centre in St Clement, by going to five games before going down 11-8 to Josh Band.

Young defender Chris Morshead continues to improve and last night he and Marcin Jurkiewicz both won all their singles matches 3-0.

The young Pegasus B team found the going tough against second-placed CCC Tigers. Mathew Fisher, the only Pegasus B winner in a 9-1 defeat, won his first match in the top division against Tigers’ Bobby Vincent.
