Glen Durrant won £2,400 for lifting the Darts Corner title (01751391)
THE top two men’s players in the English Darts Organisation’s ranking list each walked away with a singles title from the Target Jersey Darts Festival on Saturday night at the Merton Hotel.
Top seed Glen Durrant, who won £2,400, won the Darts Corner Men’s Classic Open with a 4-1 success against Jamie Wilson before Wilson, who collected £2,000, returned to play in the Target Jersey Men’s Open final where he defeated Paul Brown 4-3.
The standard of the darts was impressive throughout and that was the case for the ladies too as Fallon Sherrock, the girls’ junior Winmau Masters champion, defeated the highly-experienced Trina Gulliver 3-0 in the Ladies’ Open final.
Meanwhile Lisa Ashton had the satisfaction of defeating Deta Hedman, a world championship finalist this year, three-straight in the Ladies’ Classic final.
Both ladies champions collected £800 for their efforts while the runners-up pocketed £400 each.
