World bowls blow

CHANGES to qualification for the World Bowls event are almost certain to hit Jersey players hard.
World Bowls Limited, who run the sport worldwide, have a new president, Joe Aarons, from Australia, and a new management structure, in which England’s John Bell will be responsible for developing the sport in Europe.
But, as Jersey’s team, who battled so hard in the recent world outdoor championships in Adelaide, discovered, some of the changes – which had not been flagged up to delegates before last week’s annual general meeting – will have an adverse effect on counties like Jersey.
