Ian Jones, of St Helier B, recorded 199 ex 200
THE outstanding performance of the whole Voisin Smallbore Rifle League season to date was produced by St Helier B in Division II last week, when they recorded a score better than any in Division I this term.
Their tremendous 1,178 ex 1200 was some 13 points better than their A team in Division I, with top shot Ian Jones carding 199, while the rest of the side were also in superb form. They are, deservedly, top of the division.
In the top division, leaders St Helier A were lucky to escape with a win at Grouville, finishing only two points to the good. Richard Pirouet returned to form for Léoville with a 199, which gave his team a six-point win over Guernsey.Western were four points better than St John and St Lawrence were seven points ahead of Vinchelez.
In Division II, Western had a close match at St John, but after a hard tussle they managed a three-point win, even though Steve Morin was top shot of the match
Bob Godel’s 196 gave St Brelade a good start, which the rest of the team kept going to win by eight points at Léoville
Vinchelez B avenged their first team’s defeat by St Lawrence, with a 16-point victory, with Chris Cotillard their top gun on 195.
