FORMER Island hockey player Oliver Scholfield has been selected to represent the Canadian men’s U21 national team.
Scholfield (19) went to study at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver in 2011 after completing his A-Levels at Victoria College, and despite living in Jersey since 1999, is eligible to play for his country of birth, Canada.
While in Jersey he played for Victoria College as well as representing the Island men’s 1st XI at inter-insular level.
He currently plays for the university varsity hockey team and was invited to attend the Canadian National Identification Camp in November last year.
After a series of excellent performances at the identification camp, Scholfield was selected to travel to California and take part in a test series in mid-December against the USA’s junior national squad.
