League of Ireland champions Sligo Rovers proved too strong for Jersey’s top football team on Saturday nignt.

The Champions League preliminary round qualifiers beat the Island side 4-0 at Springfield, although they were only one up at half-time.

In wet and muddy conditions, they put on the pressure in the second half and, despite Jersey’s best efforts, scored three more goals to confirm the victory.
