FORMER Island netball development officer Rena Nelson has been selected to play for the Midlands – at rugby!

Nelson has only played four games to date so her rise to regional level has come round exceedingly quickly.

And the 24-year-old, who will start as full-back against the North on Sunday in Scarborough, cannot believe how quickly matters have materialised.

Nelson said: ‘Obviously I’m delighted to be chosen for the final squad and know that I will be playing this weekend.’
