On the Water
If you own a speedboat, jet skis, sailboard or surfboard, it should be registered with Jersey Harbours.
Registration forms are available at Maritime House and must be accompanied by the appropriate insurance certificate. Office hours: 8:30am – 4pm Monday through Friday. The office is on the First Floor, Maritime House, La Route du Port Elizabeth, St. Helier.
The easiest way for surfers to obtain insurance is to join one of the Island’s two surf clubs – The Jersey Longboard Riders Association or the Jersey Surfboard Club. The cost of third party insurance is included in the price of membership. Visitors bringing boards or sailboards with them to Jersey, should be aware that they must have third party insurance (minimum £250,000 third party liability cover). The required minimum third party insurance for speedboats is £500,000 plus £250,000 for water skiers.
